RE: UCPath Notice: Student Employment Verification
Dear UCSB Campus Community,
Beginning April 27, The Work Number, a third-party employment verification vendor, will handle UC student employment verifications just as it handles employment verifications for all other UC employees. Previously, UCPath verified employment and income upon request from student employees.
This change will allow verifiers like banks, leasing agents and employers to verify student employment information faster and easier through The Work Number using the UC Employer Code 15975. UCPath, UC Legal and The Work Number have worked together to ensure that shared student information meets UC policy, legal and regulatory standards, including FERPA provisions.
Please Note: Student employees may opt out via employee self-service beginning April 28 if they do not want their data shared with The Work Number. Employees who opt out must refer all verifiers to UCPath for manual employment and income verifications.
