RE: UCPath Notice: New Security Questions for Inbound/Outbound Calls
Dear UCSB Campus Community,
Beginning October 7, 2021, all calls made “to and from” the UCPath Center will add an additional security process to authenticate caller identification. This authentication is an added level of security due to the early Accellion data breach.
The UCPath associate will ask the individual to answer two non-compromised questions from their employee record such as: what is your location, department, pay frequency, reporting manager’s name, etc.
The individual will have three attempts to answer correctly. If correct answers cannot be provided, the UCPath associate will only provide general information such as: when is Open Enrollment, what is the UCPath fax number, how to login into UCPath. Instructions on alternative methods to submit an inquiry will be provided to the individual to get their issue addressed.
It is anticipated this enhanced authentication process will be in place until a new phone system is implemented with multi-factor authentication.
If you have a question about this information or for any other services, please visit UCPath and click on “Ask UCPath” to submit an inquiry or call (855) 982-7284 to speak with an associate M-F between 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
