RE: UCPath Actions for Staff Retirement and Short Work Breaks, Summer 2020
As we move into the Summer, here are the special actions required in UCPath for retirement and short work break transactions for staff and staff-student employees.
Retirement
For June retirees, please use the Smart HR Retirement Template. To be eligible for the July 1 COLA, there must at least a one-day break between the last day worked and the first day of retirement. This year, enter the last day worked as June 29, 2020, with an effective date of the retirement on the template of June 30, 2020.
Short Work Break (SWB) for Staff-Student Employees
Below is the process to place an employee on short work break (SWB):
Single Headcount
1. Process a PayPath transaction to extend the employee’s current job end date beyond the employee’s date of return.
2. Once the first PayPath transaction is approved, create the next PayPath transaction to put the employee on SWB.
Remember, when an employee returns from SWB, you must be proactive to bring them back to active status. The expected return date does not automatically return the employee to active status.
