RE: Enabling Lived Name in UCPath
Hello UCSB Campus Community,
In partnership with the UCPath Center, the UCSB UCPath project team has been working to enable functionality that will bring UCPath into compliance with the Gender Recognition and Lived Name Policy.

The UCPath Enable Lived Name (ELN) project will allow workforce members to enter their lived name into UCPath. Although the concept of lived names already exists in some campus systems (i.e., student information systems), the scope of this effort addresses the UCPath system for human resources, academic personnel, and payroll. For more information on this project, please visit the ELN Project Page on the UCPath website.
How do I change my name in UCPath?
- The lived name change can be made in self-service and requires no approval.
- Please note that a legal name change will continue to require documentation and approval before the change is updated in UCPath.
- All workforce members in UCPath will have a lived name, even if it is the same as the legal name.
