RE: UCPath Reminder: New Hire Template & Date of Birth

Hello UCSB UCPath Transactional Users, 

UCSB Campus Identity systems require a date of birth (DOB) for account merging and for UCSB NetID activation. When a new hire is entered into UCPath without the DOB included on the Hire Template, this creates UCSB campus system and employee access issues. 

While UCPath templates do not require the date of birth to be entered to submit the template for approval and fulfillment,, UCSB requires the date of birth to be included on Hire templates for ALL UCSB employees.

UCPath Transactor Instructions:
 

  • Campus UCPath Initiators - be sure to obtain the DOB from all hires new to UC and include this data point in any hire template.

  • Campus UCPath Approvers - ensure the DOB is included on the Hire template, and deny transactions where this data point has not been input. (Note - this data point will be masked and should appear as X’s - “Date of Birth XX/XX/XX” - the field should just not appear as blank.)
