RE: California Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2025
This is to inform you that the California minimum wage will increase from $16.00 per hour to $16.50 per hour effective January 1, 2025. This change primarily impacts students in casual-restricted positions, but it also impacts some limited appointment employees in hourly paid BYA titles (i.e. Camp Counselors, Recreation Program Instructors, and Non-UC Students).
This change will be coordinated centrally by HR in collaboration with the UCPath Center. You do not need to take any action. The centralized process will identify active appointments in UCPath with an hourly rate of less than $16.50 per hour, and will create a new pay rate of $16.50 per hour effective 12/22/24 for bi-weekly paid employees and 1/1/25 for monthly paid employees. This process is scheduled to take place in mid-December.
UCSB salary range minimums that fall below $16.50 per hour will be adjusted in the Job Code Lookup system (formerly known as TCS) effective January 1, 2025. The job titles impacted by this change are:
